New Brunswick Skilled Worker Stream Paused Due To High Demand
Invitations to apply (ITAs) under the New Brunswick Skilled Worker stream is temporarily paused for expression of interest submitted after May 17, 2024.
ITAs will be extended to eligible French-speaking candidates with NCLC 4 in all four language competencies and a qualifying job or job offer in TEER 0, 1, 2, 3, or 4 positions.
You can still create an Expression of Interest (EOI) under the New Brunswick Skilled Worker stream, which remains active for 365 days and may lead to an invitation when the program re-opens.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
1- Job Offer Requirement
- NOC 62020 – Food service supervisors (in-province candidate)
- NOC 65201 – Food counter attendants, kitchen helpers and related support occupations
- All out-of-province and overseas occupations other than NOC TEER 5
2- Work Experience
You must have at least one (1) year of full-time work experience in the past five (5) years.
Note: Work experience is not required for graduates from a New Brunswick educational institution, with a minimum one-year degree, diploma or certificate, who are eligible for a post-graduate work permit (➨Page).
3- Age
4- Language Ability
You must have taken an approved test results taken within two (2) years and have obtained a minimum score of Canadian Language Benchmark CLB 4 in all for abilities in English or French (➨Appendix 5).
5- Education
- Canadian educational credential (certificate, diploma, or degree); or
- equivalent foreign credential
The candidates with a foreign education must provide an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) report (➨Appendix 3) for their foreign education.
6- Licensing
If your intended job offer is in a regulated occupation, you are required to be certified or licensed by the regulatory authority for that occupation.

- You are a refugee claimant in Canada, a failed refugee claimant, had a removal order, are prohibited from entering or being in Canada, do not have status in Canada or are living illegally in your country of residence.

WHAT STEPS SHOULD YOU TAKE?
Step 1: Get a Job Offer in New Brunswick
Step 2: Submit an Online NBPNP Expression of Interest
If you meet the minimum criteria including the minimum score of 60 under the New Brunswick Skilled Worker Stream point grid, you can register and submit an Expression of Interest to NBPNP. You must create a candidate profile within the INB Portal (➨immilib.com/NBSW-Apply). Within the INB portal you must choose the Skilled Worker Labour Market Stream and follow the instructions to submit the Expression of Interest (EOI).
Step 3: Submit Application to NBPNP
Step 4: Apply for Permanent Residence
If you are nominated by the Province of New Brunswick, then your next step is to submit a complete application for a permanent resident visa within six (6) months (➨Page).

You must submit your application using the IRCC Permanent Residence Portal (PR Portal) (➨ immilib.com/PR-Portal).
Apply for a Temporary Work Permit
If your PR application is not finalized, you may also be able to apply for a Bridging Open Work Permit (BOWP) (➨Page). This will let you to stay and continue working on a valid work permit until your PR application is finalized.
Step 5: Landing in Canada
You will only become a Permanent Resident of Canada when you cross a Canadian port of entry. This is referred to as ‘landing in Canada' (➨Page).
You must land in Canada before the expiry date, which appears on your Canada Immigration Visa. Usually, the expiry date is one (1) year from the time medical examinations were completed. As this is not always the case, be sure to verify the expiry date as soon as the Canada Immigration Visa is received.
