Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP)
The Prince Edward Islands Skilled Workers Stream gives foreign workers who are currently working for a PEI employer the opportunity to apply to permanently live and work in the province.
Skilled Workers stream is part of PEI Workforce Category, which includes the following streams:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
The following requirements must be met if you are applying to Prince Edward Island Skilled Worker Stream:
1- Job Offer Requirement
At the time of your application and at the time the PEI PNP assesses your application for nomination, you must have a bona fide full-time job offer from a PEI employer in an eligible occupation. Your job offer must be permanent (meaning job has no end date) or for a minimum of two (2) years.
The position offered must be in National Occupation Classification (NOC) TEER 0, 1, 2 or 3 (➨Appendix 1).
2- Work Experience
You must have at least two (2) years of full-time work experience in the past five (5) years.
Any applicant applying under NOC 73300 (Transport truck drivers) will be required to have at least 12 months of long haul truck driving experience and their job offer must be with an eligible PEI employer.
3- Work Permit
If you are an applicant living in PEI, you must have a valid work permit (➨Page) and legal status in country of residence.

5- Language Ability
You must possess sufficient English and/or French language ability to perform the job offered. Language ability can be verified by one of the following:
- An approved test results taken with a minimum score of Canadian Language Benchmark CLB 4 in all for abilities in English or French (➨Appendix 5). Test must be taken no more than two (2) years prior to submission of your application.
OR
- Employer signed an Employer Language Declaration, indicating they are comfortable with language proficiency

6- Education
You must have a Canadian post-secondary degree or diploma (minimum two year program), or its equivalent in another country.
If you completed your studies outside of Canada, you need to get an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) (➨Appendix 3) that proves your education is equivalent to a Canadian high school diploma.
The ECA Report must not be more than five (5) years old prior to the date the application is submitted.
7- Settlement Funds
You must show that you have enough money to cover federal immigration fees, travel costs for all included in the application, as well as everyday living expenses.
8- Ineligibility
You are not eligible to apply under the Prince Edward Island Skilled Worker Stream if:
- You have a federal Express Entry profile (in which case you should apply under PEI Express Entry stream (➨Page))
- You are a refugee claimant in Canada, a failed refugee claimant, had a removal order, are prohibited from entering or being in Canada, do not have status in Canada or are living illegally in your country of residence.

CALCULATE YOUR SCORE
If you meet the above minimum requirement, then you must calculate your total score based on the following selection factors. There is no minimum required score. But you will be ranked based upon your points assessment score and placed in an Expression of Interest (EOI) pool.
Candidates will be ranked against each other and only top ranked candidates with a connection to Prince Edward Island will be invited to apply. A draw will occur with the top ranked candidates and consideration of connection to, and interest in PEI being selected and issued an invitation to apply (➨immilib.com/PESWI-Grid).

Factor 2: Language Ability
To be awarded point for language, you must have taken an approved test results. Test must be taken no more than two (2) years prior to submission of your application.
The lowest score achieved in the four (4) skills (Reading, Writing, Speaking, and Listening) is your score.
If evidence of proficiency in both official languages is submitted, you will receive points for each language, to the maximum of 20 points.

WHAT STEPS SHOULD YOU TAKE?
Step 1: Get a Job Offer
If you don’t already have a qualified job offer with the criteria explained in “Minimum Requirements”, you need to find an employer and secure a job for yourself.
Before you submit your application for an employer-specific work permit, the employer who wants to hire you must complete certain steps and give you either a copy of a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) (➨immilib.com/LMIA) or an offer of employment number (if the job is LMIA exempt)to include in your application.
Step 2: Submit an Online Expression of Interest (EOI)
Now that you meet all the requirements, you can complete an online Expression of Interest (EOI) (➨immilib.com/PESWI-Apply) for yourself.
EOI is an online system where you submit information about yourself to the PEI Provincial Nominee Program.
To complete the EOI, you’ll need information from some documents including passports, language test results, etc. But you don’t need to upload any documents.

Step 3: Submit Application to PEI PNP
If you are invited to apply, you must submit your application within sixty (60) days by providing the application forms, application fee and all supporting documentation to PEI PNP. You must send your original complete application package by registered mail or courier or in person.
If your application is complete, you will receive a letter or email confirming that your file has been received and accepted for processing. This will include your PEI PNP file number.
A PEI PNP officer will contact you if information is needed to assess your application and will tell you how to send the information.
If your application is approved, you will become a Provincial Nominee and receive a nomination package including you Provincial Nomination Certificate
Step 4: Apply for Permanent Residence
If you are nominated by the province of Prince Edward Island, then your next step is to submit a complete application for a permanent resident visa within three (3) months (➨Page).
You must submit your application using the IRCC Permanent Residence Portal (PR Portal) (➨ immilib.com/PR-Portal).
If your application is complete, you will receive a letter or an email confirming that your file has been received and accepted for processing. This letter is called the Acknowledge of Receipt (AOR) and will include your IRCC file number.

Once you have received your acknowledgement of receipt, you can create an online account and link your application to it. By creating an account, you will be able to receive email updates and a more detailed case status.
Apply for a Bridging Open Work Permit (if applicable)
If you are in Canada on a work permit and your PR application is not finalized, you may be able to apply for a Bridging Open Work Permit (BOWP) (➨Page). This will let you to stay and continue working on a valid work permit until your PR application is finalized.
Step 5: Landing in Canada
You will only become a Permanent Resident of Canada when you cross a Canadian port of entry. This is referred to as ‘landing in Canada' (➨Page).
