The Nova Scotia Labour Market Priorities Stream allows Nova Scotia to nominate a limited number of qualified candidates who meet provincial labour market needs from Federal Express Entry system (➨page).
Ready to take the next step towards your Canadian immigration journey? Fill out the form below and embark on your path to new opportunities.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
1- Eligibility for an active Express Entry Profile
2- Nova Scotia Labour Market Priority
3- Settlement Funds
You must show that you have enough money for you and your family to settle in Canada based on 50% of Statistics Canada’s Low Income Cut-Off (LICO) (➨Appendix 2). This amount is reduced in the case of a principal applicant who is already living in Nova Scotia or has arranged employment.
The Office of Immigration will not approve your application if it appears likely that your family income in Nova Scotia (based on your job offer and any spousal income) will be below Statistics Canada’s full year Low Income Cut-Off (LICO).
4- Ineligibility
- You have received a nomination or endorsement (NSNP or Atlantic Immigration Pilot) within the last 12 months.
- You are a refugee claimant in Canada, a failed refugee claimant, had a removal order, are prohibited from entering or being in Canada, do not have status in Canada or are living illegally in your country of residence.

WHAT STEPS SHOULD YOU TAKE?
Step 1: Create Express Entry Profile
For a chance to be invited to apply under Nova Scotia Labour Market Priorities Stream, you must create an Express Entry Profile (➨page) for yourself. Within your Express Entry profile make sure you have stated an interest in immigrating permanently to Nova Scotia.
Since you are eligible under one of the three economic immigration programs, you will be accepted into the pool of candidates.
Candidates must receive by email a Notification of Interest letter (request to submit an application to apply to the program). If the NSNP does not ask you to submit an application, you are not eligible for consideration under this stream.
Check previous rounds of invitations listed in the table on the right to see how likely you are to get an invitation in the next round.

Step 2: Submit Application to NSNP
After you receive a Letter of Interest from Nova Scotia through your IRCC online account, you have thirty (30) calendar days to apply to NSNP under the Labour Market Priorities stream.
If your application package is complete, you will receive a notification email within sixty (60) days of the date the NSNP receives your application confirming that your application has been received and accepted for consideration. This will include your NSNP file number.
Your application will only be considered for assessment while your federal Express Entry profile is active. Once your Express Entry profile is no longer available for nomination, you will no longer be eligible under this stream with your current application.
If your application is approved, you will receive a nomination certificate through the Express Entry portal. The NSNP will also email you a nomination certificate that you should retain for your records.

You must accept the nomination within thirty (30) days after it is issued through the Express Entry portal in order to receive an Invitation to Apply for permanent residence.
When you accept a nomination, you are awarded 600 additional points in the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) (➨page). This will help you quickly get invited to apply for permanent residence through your Express Entry profile.
Step 3: Apply for Permanent Residence
You can only apply for permanent residence (➨page) through Express Entry if you’ve received an invitation to apply.
Your Express Entry invitation to apply is valid for sixty (60) days only.
Step 4: Landing in Canada
If your application is approved, you will be asked to pay your right of permanent residence fee if you haven’t already done so. You will receive a Confirmation of Permanent Residence (CoPR) and if you are from a country that requires a visa you will also be issued a permanent resident visa.
You will only become a Permanent Resident of Canada when you cross a Canadian port of entry. This is referred to as ‘landing in Canada’ (➨page).
You must land in Canada before the expiry date, which appears on your Canada Immigration Visa. Usually, the expiry date is one (1) year from the time medical examinations were completed. As this is not always the case, be sure to verify the expiry date as soon as the Canada Immigration Visa is received.
