The BC Entrepreneur Immigration Regional Pilot is a way for international entrepreneurs wishing to immigrate to British Columbia to set up businesses that support innovation and economic growth in the province. It was introduced in March 2019 and has been extended to March 31, 2024.

Curriculum licensing agreement students ineligible for PGWP

Curriculum licensing agreements allow students to graduate from a program that was delivered by a private career college on behalf of a public PGWP-eligible institution.

Students beginning curriculum licensing agreement programs on or after September 1, 2024, will not be eligible for a PGWP.

Home Child Care Provider Pilot and the Home Support Worker Pilot Programs  are set to close on June 17, 2024

On June 18, 2019, Canada introduced these two new programs, as 5-year pilot programs that will let qualified caregivers and their family members come to Canada with the goal of becoming permanent residents. The pilots will be concluded on June 17, 2024.

Rural and Northern Immigration Program is set to close after 5 years on August 31, 2024

Rural and Northern Immigration Program (RNIP) is a 5-year federal immigration pilot program that was launched on September 1, 2019 and will conclude on August 31, 2024. It is designed to help smaller rural and northern communities in Canada to attract, integrate and retain foreign skilled workers meeting their economic development and labour market needs.

The 1-year PR pathway for Ukrainian nationals will end on October 22, 2024

This policy came into effect on October 23, 2024 and will end after one year on October 22, 2024. It lets certain Ukrainian foreign nationals in Canada and their family members apply for permanent residence.

Saskatchewan Hard-to-Fill Skills Pilot will end on November 24, 2024

Saskatchewan announced a new 3-year immigration pilot on November 25. The Hard-To-Fill Skills Pilot will allow Saskatchewan employers to recruit international talent for certain in-demand occupations and will end on November 24, 2024.

Canada Extends Agri-Food Pilot Program for another 2 years until May 14, 2025

On May 8, 2023 Canada announced an extension to the Agri-Food Pilot, now running until May 14, 2025. Launched in 2020, this initiative facilitates experienced workers in agricultural and food industries to transition to permanent residence in Canada.

Quebec Pilot Program for Workers in the Artificial Intelligence, Information Technologies and Visual Effects Sectors is set to end on Jan 1, 2026

The Quebec immigration pilot program for temporary foreign worker who is working in Québec in AI, IT, and VFX came into effect on April 22, 2021, and will close on January 1, 2026.

Quebec Pilot Program for Orderlies is set to end on Jan 1, 2026

This pilot program allows you to settle in Québec permanently if you are a temporary foreign worker who is working in Québec as an orderly. Initiated on March 31, 2021, this program is set to close on January 1, 2026.

Quebec Pilot Program for Workers in Food Processing is set to end on Mar 24, 2026

This pilot program enables individuals working as temporary foreign workers in Québec's food processing sector to achieve permanent settlement in Québec. Initiated on March 24, 2021, this program is set to close on January 1, 2026.

Permanent Residence Pathways for Hong Kong Residents will end on August 31, 2026

The temporary public policy creating two pathways to permanent residence to facilitate the immigration of certain Hong Kong residents, took effect on June 1, 2021, and expires on August 31, 2026.

Nova Scotia Critical Construction Worker Pilot – Job Offer Pathway is expected to end on October 18, 2026
