Rural and Northern Immigration Program (RNIP) is a 5-year federal immigration pilot program that was launched on September 1, 2019 and will conclude on August 31, 2024. It is designed to help smaller rural and northern communities in Canada to attract, integrate and retain foreign skilled workers meeting their economic development and labour market needs.

Saskatchewan is welcoming skilled workers with open arms! The province has recently introduced new immigration pathways specifically designed to attract talent in the agriculture and health sectors. These pathways offer exciting opportunities for individuals with the necessary skills and qualifications to settle in Saskatchewan and contribute to its economy.

The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) has announced the closure of several streams, effective immediately. This includes the Saskatchewan Experience – Health Professionals Stream, Saskatchewan Experience – Hospitality Sector Project Stream, Saskatchewan Experience – Long-Haul Drivers Project Stream, and Saskatchewan Experience – Semi-Skilled Agriculture Worker with Existing Work Permit Stream. Additionally, the Saskatchewan International Skilled Worker – Hard-to-Fill Skills Stream has also been suspended. This closure affects individuals who were planning to apply through these programs and may require them to explore alternative options for immigration to Saskatchewan.
