SUMMARY

The National Occupational Classification (NOC) system is Canada’s national system of organizing and describing occupations. Jobs are grouped based on the type of job duties and work a person does.

JOB GROUPS

For immigration purposes, the main job groups are:

Skill Type 0 (zero): management occupations, such as:

  • restaurant managers
  • mine managers
  • business general manager

Skill Level A: professional occupations that usually require a degree from a university, such as:
